1) Disqualification Letter and my reply
My reply
To: Whom it may concern
Dear Sir/Madam,
I forward you the email of disqualification by FIDE in Internet World Chess Championship. I qualified to play in World Chess Championship in Moscow by beating few grandmasters ! I had been accused of using computer software by FIDE. It is a lie and obvious injustice, they only promote titled players and their own people. FIDE did not provide any proof and asked me to prove my innocence ! What a shame, it is like in those communist regimes where a citizen needs to prove his/her innocence. It is obvious many players were using chess software and other means during the tournament and they have not been disqualified. Mr Zeliakov, who qualified does not even have one game in Chess Database, he does not have chess rating as well. It looks like American players (Mr. Ted Brown) has been replaced by Russians (Zeliakov). What a scandal !
As a US player and US Master I ask you for your support in this case, because it is not right what happened here.

Dear Sir/Madam
I would like to appeal to this committee for an injustice which happened here. This is not the first time I has been denied right to play in World Chess Championship. In 1989 I won Polish International Chess Champ. in Glogow, Poland and I supposed to go to World Champ. Under 18 in Puerto Rico. Polish Chess Federation denied my right to play in it, even it has been stated clearly before the tournament by Mr. Zbigniew Czajka ! It looks like the situation repeat itself, only FIDE titled players have right to play in World Chess Championship !!! Why do you organize such an event if you do not let other no-titled people to qualify ? My games with the grandmasters in this tournament has been based on the ideas not on some junk machine . Every literature player (GM level) will be able to see it, computer can not evaluate position correctly, can not find ideas. Please ask Mr. Khalifman to look at those games and I'm sure he will understand it and see my ideas. My game with Boris Kreiman for example, very simple:
- exchange pieces for the endgame,
- Transfer King to d4
- 2 pawns against 1 on the queen side
Could computer possibly invent such a plan ??? What about my theoretical novelties ? Game with Pavel Blatny. I sacrificed a pawn after d4. Would computer do this ? The position has been analyzed earlier by me till move b4. During my games I used openings I always use. This can be verified of course.
I studied chess with such grandmasters like: Georgi Kacheishvill, Alex Wojtkiewicz, Jaan Ehlvest and Leonid Youdasin. Please feel free to contact them and verify this information. My low FIDE rating can be explained that I do not have good health and I can not play long games very well, I'm getting extreme fatigue very quickly and I can blunder something easily. I have been diagnosed with fybromylogia and I can provide you with the doctor's statement if necessary.
I'm a strong US master I have won many games with strong grandmasters in the past. My past results:
1) GM Gilardo Garcia 1, Foxwoods (I won a nice strategic game, I really strategically outplayed this GM. FIDE rated)
2) GM Fishbain, Foxwoods 12.04.2001 1/2 (I was black, FIDE rated). I
have shown a knowledge of endgames. Something for Mr.Pieper to study.
3) Leonid Yudasin!! (he used to be a pretendent ) 1/2 at Manhattan
Chess Club (I was winning, nice tactical trick). FIDE rated. Please see
below
4) Kachaishvilli 1 (I won, a game at Marshall Chess Club)
5) Wojtkiewicz 1 (I won with him at Marshall Club on 16.07.1999, few blitz games as well), He draw with Kasparov in Reykijavik ! Please see below.
6) Fedorovich (0.5). I won few blitz games as well
7) Kreiman 0.5. Marshall 10/99
and more
Important Theoretical Novelty:
1) DeBrieg,H 1 Nice novelty. Improvement over the 10th game Kasparov-Kramnik. See below
2) Kudrin 1/2, Informant #75
I spent many hours to prepare before each game, I also lost time and that means money for me. By your action you are damaging my reputation as well. I work for the big lawfirm in New York and many people here were following the tournament. I will not let this injustice to prevail and I will take all appropriate actions.
I state very clearly that I DID NOT use computer software during my games at WICC. My games with all the strong grandmasters has been based on ideas not on the software. You fail to provide any evidence that such a software has been used. Please provide evidence. I used your Computer Arbiter program during all my games, this program supposed to check for other computer software. Why you did not disqualify people who used computer software ?
Another thing is that during the tournament you did not provide any warning that it has been suspected that computer software has been used by me. Why now you thing that I used such a software. Please let me know what kind of chess software you have in mind. I would like to compare my games to such a software.
I noticed many irregularities in this tournament.
