Here are two games from Pinamar.
Andersson-Szmetan
1.Sf3 Sf6 2.c4 c5 3.Sc3 b6 4.g3 Lb7 5.Lg2 e6 6.0-0 Le7 7.d4 cxd4 8.Dxd4 d6 9.b3
Sb-d7
10.Tf-d1 a6 11.Sg5(a dubious move. Normal would be 11.Lb2 followed by 12.e4 or
De3)Lxg2 12.Kxg2
Dc7 13.Sg-e4 Sxe4? (13.- 0-0 is of course the right move here.)14.Sxe4 0-0
15.La3! Dc6 16.f3
Sc5 17.Lb2(provoking f6.Now white has some prospects) f6 18.Sf2! Tf7(better is
Tf-e8)19.Ta-c1 f5 20.Tc2
Td8 21.De3(Now black is in danger. It is possible to see why the rook is better
on e8 than f7)Lf6
22.b4 Da4 23.Lxf6 Txf6 24.Tb2(N0w the black position collapses) Sb7 25.Dxb6 and
black resigns.
Andersson-Larsen
1.d4 Sf6 2.Sf3 e6 3.g3 b6 4.Lg2 Lb7 5.0-0 Le7 6.c4 0-0 7.Sc3 Se4(Larsen is
playing the Queens-
indian and he gets a good game with black. 8.Dc2 Sxc3 9.Dxc3 d6 10.b3
Sd7(Possible is also
to play c5 and to place the knight on c6)11.Lb2 Sf6 12.Ta-d1(good is also Tf-d1
in order to place
the a-rook on c1)c6 13.Sd2 d5 14.e4 dxe4 15.Sxe4 Sxe4 16.Lxe4 Lf6
17.Td3(17.Tf-e1 is another
reasonable move)De7 18.Dc2 Tf-d8 19.Tf-d1 g6 20.c5!? bxc5 21.La3 Td7 22.Lxc5(I
believe that dxc5 is strong. The pawns are much better that way.)Dd8 23.h4 Lg7
24.Dc3 Dc7 25.f4 a5 26.a4 La6 27.Td3-d2 Ta-d8 28.Kg2 h5 29.b4 axb4 30.Dxb4(The
a-pawn is a dangerous pawn now)Tb8 31.Dc3 Dc8 32.Tb1 Txb1 33.Lxb1 Lf8 (I
expected Tb7.For instance:34.Tb2 Txb2 35.Dxb2 Lc4 followed by Da6)34.Le4 Lxc5
35.dxc5 Dd8 36.Txd7 Dxd7 37.Lf3!(Black has big problems now.) Kf8 38.Kf2 Ke7
39.Ke3 Db7 40.Le4 Dd7 41.Dd4 Dc7 42.Db4 e5 43.Db6 exf4 44.gxf4 Dxb6 45.cxb6 Kd6
46.Kd4 Lf1 47.a5 La6 48.Lc2 c5+ 49.Kc3 Kd5 50.La4 and black resings.
