ENDGAMES

I have compiled  the most interesting practical endgames here.

    Rook Endgames

    1) Rook + 4 pawns (passed a pawn) versus Rook + 3 pawns. I have made a new discovery showing how to win this type of endgame, even it is considered by most scholars a draw.

PROBLEMS

In this section we have selected chess problems for you to resolve. Try to resolve each problem without moving pieces on the board, you can also try to resolve it without looking at the board at all, but that is extremely difficult. This is really a great way to improve your chess play and increase your imagination.

Please select from the buttons above for the set of chess problems you would like to study. After completing each set of two problems click the next button for the next set. Each problem has a number, so you can refer to it easily. In each position first move is for white, please find the best continuation for both sides leading to the requested result (win or draw). Each position has an answer link so you can check if your continuation is correct.

Those problems are not easy even for an advanced player, but I hope you will enjoy them. I will post new problems on regular basis, so please check it often. Please only bookmark the front page, other pages may be changed in the future, so your bookmark will not work. Please send any comments and suggestions --> here.
